Professor Thomas Stratmann
Professor Thomas Stratmann is University Professor of Economics and Law, and teaches economics, statistics, econometrics and data science at the Department of Economics at George Mason University. He also holds a courtesy appointment at the George Mason University Scalia Law School.
He holds a Bachelors from the Free University of Berlin, and a Masters and PhD degree in economics from the University of Maryland. He has taught at Montana State University and held visiting positions at the University of Chicago, University of Vienna, the University of Munich, and the International Monetary Fund.
He has published in leading journals of economics and law of economics, and is a recognized leader among econometric scholars for scholarship regarding the stock price event studies typically utilized in securities class action litigation.
